I hate that their response to everyone gently and kindly telling them that this is not going to work was to throw a panic attack and flaunt anxiety and "everyone hates me" and "I should just go". It feels like such a manipulative ploy to make the mods reassure them. I hate even more that the mods ARE.

I mean, if they really truly CANNOT write prose (as they keep insisting they can't) I think they really should just go? You can't guarantee to only match to someone in the poem challenge. And what a shitty situation for a recipient who, quite understandably, would never have thought they needed to DNW poetry in a fanfiction exchange where prose has always been the default.
