I'm not a troll and I'm only being OAA because of your own attitude. People in here and in FFA are always complaining about how the exacting, pedantic people on here make them worried about writing their own letters and it's genuinely upsetting and frustrating to me that you are insistent on defaulting on someone and sending them out to pinch hits just because they included an optional detail that conflicted with your ship.

I mean, this is something you wrote:

That encapsulates the attitude I'm reacting to here. You, recipient, are allowed to mention a threesome no more than one time in your letter or you're out on the street because nothing I write could ever possibly be enjoyable to you. How dare you mention an optional detail that isn't my exact favored ship in anything other than a long list of options at the end, which my eyes will glaze over anyway.

You keep bringing up this letter and it's your word against this unseen letter. I want to know if you're crazy or not.

Yeah, I should not have just said it quite that way, because there's obviously a lot of overlap between Wagner and Norse Myth, and I'm offering both, and my favorite Ringfic on AO3 is half made up of Norse myth. But what that letter-writer asked for is... just... not really a super interesting part of either canon. It's the letter overtones of MCU Loki-Thor that super frustrate me, I think.

Hmm. I won't promise to request it, but I'm gonna have to think about it :) I'll put it on my list for next year, anyway...

JFC, they specifically said there's nothing wrong with the letter, they just can't do it justice themselves!

Okay no, what really bothers me about the those prompts is that they made me think of a silly comic based on Norse Myth and I'd love to write crossover with that. But that's... so not what that person wants, lmao.

I'm genuinely worried that they're going to wank on the other person in my fandom when they did nothing wrong. :/ Nobody should be forced to swallow down whatever fic they get because ODAO, especially when their optional details are perfectly fine, it was just a bad match.

Currently faced with the decision of dropping an offer or risking an 'A without B please' request for my A + B offer.

There are other letters asking for A and B with prompts I'd be happy to be matched to, but now there's this request that would have me unhappy discovering it as my assignment.

Not your fault, anon, you're entitled to attempt to maximize your own Yuletide experience, but I do wonder how much the availability of letters has had a part to play in the problems with matching in recent years.

Like in this situation, there are multiple A&B requests, which will need multiple A&B offers, but if a critical mass of A&B offers are turned off by the "A only" request, there's no way anyone can match with those A&B requests anymore. I'm requesting some ships, and I just hope other people's requests don't affect my own ability to match on those. *sigh*
