Are you allowed to note somewhere like a Yuleporn comment that although you haven't requested fandom x, it is in the tagset and you're open to extra porn? None of my fandoms are really a fit for Yuleporn this year but I usually participate and want to play again!

Kings! There are I think 7 requests now, but only 2 letters. I need to know if it's worth a review of the canon, as it will undoubtedly put my heart through the wringer.

Also A-babies vs X-babies requestor finally signed up. I need that letter to see if the one, super-specific idea I have will jive with their prompts/expectations.

There's nothing against gifting people fandoms they didn't request, but it's pretty tacky asking for them, imo.

Nah, I should re-phrase that. There are people I would hate to write for in SamFlam, but they are not all that bad as people. I just think they would be possibly difficult recipients.

It's nowhere in the rules that you can't, but that's just hustling for treats. Request another fandom where porn fits if you really want it that badly.

If you have friends doing Yuletide, leaving a comment like "My requests this year don't lend themselves to porn, but I'm excited to write something!" might garner you something.

But I wouldn't just be receiving extra stuff, I'd be writing extra stuff too? I don't see it as hustling any more than posting your letter to the comm or posting on something like a Yuleporn/Crueltide/Whatever the drabble thing is/Ladies are Awesome! post.

The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. It's the perfect antidote for anyone who's getting a little (or a lot!) tired of the grimdark/crapsack trend in modern fantasy. The main character's a half-goblin/half-elf who becomes emperor unexpectedly when his father and several other male relatives die in an airship accident. He hasn't been educated to rule, since he was so far down the line of succession, and now he has to really scramble to do his best despite being unprepared for the whole situation.

The worldbuilding is excellent, the characters are engaging, and the plot managed to surprise me at times due simply to its lack of (melo-)dramatic irony. The main draw, though, as I said above, is that it's a generally kind book; it's not all sweetness and light, but most of the characters--including the main character--try to be good people, and the characters who don't try to be good are nonetheless bad for very human and explicable reasons.

Receive, 100%. The whole reason I sign up for yuletide is to hopefully get a wonderful fic for a fandom/characters in it I can never find much for. It's not that I don't enjoy giving too, I always try my best to write my recipient something they'll really like and usually put out a few treats besides, but I'm here for my gift.

Parent-child preferred, but anything out there? Please no incest requests.

If I knew the canon I'd love to write that.

No, they've already changed out the other fandom for Fake (if Fake had been in there before I woulda bookmarked the letter when looking at it for the FF:D requests; letters where I like two or more of the canons get instabookmarked.)

Can't remember what used to be there though.

Don't think there's anything specifically against the rules, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.

(Almost wish I did, since I missed nominations so I couldn't request the Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye comic or Tales of Graces.)
