The Dirty Energy Source

Do you want to make a spreadsheet about spreadsheets?
Do you still need to figure out what two other fandoms you should request beside the only one you really want fic for?
Or are you trolling ALL the letter posts for placeholders, just so you can write those people some nice, dry coal?

We want to know all about it.

Don't lie Morbane.

We all know you think thecolourclear is an asshole. ;)

Morbane: hey :) sorry if I caused a kerfuffle in your letters post. I was trying to avoid one.
Morbane: it seems to have calmed down now? but I was confused as to why comments were still being screened

This letter is amazing! I had also already requested Rivers of London from the library based on the pumping post. Age difference seeking nonnie thanks you!

+1. Whenever I request a book series, I try to give at least one prompt that my writer would only need to read one book for.

I do love femslash, but no. I'm just annoyed by the avalanche of "kinkshaming!!11!" and "baseless grudgewank!!1!1" responses that tend to follow objections to dumbass requests.

And now he is denying all knowledge of the comment screening. Keep it classy, TCC.

Thank you! And I'm very happy the pimping post got someone interested in the books. I hope you'll like them. :)

I knew just what you needed, even before you did! I can vouch for the quality of Clockwork Orange and Funny Games. Those other too are Enter At Your Own Risk.

How do I get on the yuletide chat, _coal? Is there a handy how-to post? Link me, please. :)

It's in chat. He's backpeddling on the screening like the lying weasel he is.

if it's the raven cycle, i think a couple of people already noted the third book is coming out and that you can/can't include canon from it in their fic. that's probably specific enough unless you think you're going to want to put in a bunch of prompts from the new book.

Web-based:

Create a username and click join and you're in. That's what I use.

Um, can't only the mods and the person who posted the LJ post screen threads? So who does he claim did it? Morbane?

Re: Crossovers vs. Fusions

(Anonymous) 2014-10-18 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
OP

Usually I see AU's to mean that they take place in the universe. So, if Sam and Dean got letters to Hogwarts and were basic student's that would be an AU.

If it was a fusion, Sam and Dean would be the title characters, so Dean's character arc would follow that of Harry's and Sam would be Ron or something.

To make that example more clear: Marvel AU would be Sam and Dean being mutants. Marvel Fusion would be Iron Man Dean, Thor Sam.

YMMV and I'm not the fandom czar, but that's how I personally have seen those things differentiated and what I mean when I use them.

Re: Letters Requesting Specific Things - ZOMBIES

(Anonymous) 2014-10-18 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I am totally going to add a variation of 'zombies are cool too' to my letter right now.

He's claiming Nebula is the only one tracking the post at the moment. Way to throw your BFF under the bus. Always classy, that one.

For IRC clients, I would recommend Chatzilla if you use Firefox, Colloquy if you use a Mac or ios device, mirc if you use Windows
