But if you generally enjoy the ship as long as it's not written in a particular way, you could well write something like "if you write Nightingale/Peter, please address the power and age difference between them instead of glossing over it; otherwise I would prefer gen". That should make it clear, no?
And I don't think kinking on it means you can't address the potential problems of it? Personally I enjoy mentor/student relationships a lot, so in that regard I do kink on them. But if I write mentor/student ships, I'm still going to address the fact that the mentor will probably have reservations, that he will worry about potentially taking advantage of his student, that the student might feel uncomfortable with certain aspects of that relationship. And from what I've seen in fics in this fandom, most writers do an excellent job with that ship.
