I offer very few things at first. First of all, I want my fandoms at the top of the needy list while the list is so short. Second, I want to get my requests on the list at all so people see the fandom names as they scroll past. I'll work on offers later.

I have taken to skipping the (X,0) part of the summary this year under the assumption that they are all artificially needied.

What? Not offering something you're requesting isn't making it artificially needy... you can't match to yourself, so leaving your offer off until the last minute avoids making it look artificially un-needy, not the opposite.

The person above said that they were offering only a little to make their fandoms appear needy.
I may have too much faith in humanity, but I'm also going by the assumption that everybody knows your second statement and therefore knows that the majority of the 1,1 are just as needy as the X,0. With the only advantage that there's someone willing to write them, so at least to me there's more incentive to offer and write them.
