If you're writing early treats, what do you do with them until it's time to post them? I'm trying to remember to write titles & summaries for each as I go, but I usually do that when I post, so it's a bit tricky.

The Sailor Moon request seems like troll bait. Is this for real?

I've got ideas for some, but I don't know if I have the strength to hold out on posting them or them not being revealed until Christmas.

Just came across a Musketeers letter that says "make Constance less annoying" so I've got a new secret enemy.

I have one treat fully plotted. It'll probably be in the 10k to 15k range. I'm holding off from writing it because I don't want to risk getting burned out.

Two other treats that are in the brain storming stage.

What's wrong with them?

I've been hanging out at this one exceptionally passive-aggressive comm for a while now, and during that time I've dug up a lot of dirt on the mods and past wanks where all the information was not known to the fandom at large.

I'm very tempted to write an exposé on the comm and post it for the larger fandom to see. I'm certainly not proud of way I acted at times, and I'm going to have to own up to some truths? But after I've admitted that, the worst people can accuse me of is making snotty comments about certain (het) ships I didn't like. The stuff I have on the mod team? Is much, much worse, and reveals a massive level of callousness and personal entitlement.

If I go through with this, admitting where I've acted like a douche, will I look wanky and like I'm trying to create drama? I don't care about retribution from people at the comm- I just don't want to look like some sort of drama queen/martyr/attention whore/asshole.

Noob question, but do you have to write treats with the characters they requested/mentioned? I'm assuming it would be good to ask them beforehand?

I just stick them in a Word doc with the title and summary (and maybe tags) at the top.

Uh, yes, you will look wanky as fuck. You have to decide if that's worth it to you. (Which, what would the objective of the expose be? As you've described, stirring up drama sounds like the goal.)

This person seems to be very football-oriented.

Generally it's not a good idea to write a treat for someone if they requested A&D and you want to write a similar prompt but with B/C. But if, let's say, they requested A, B, and C, and left a B/C prompt, writing them a B/C treat without A is probably okay.

The thing a lot of people do when they write treats is they wait to upload the treat until their recip has an actual gift fic uploaded, because otherwise if their assigned writer defaults, the recip may only get the treat and not go out to pinch hits, and many people people want the best for their recip, or they're anxious that the treat might not be all that good, or the treat writer played a little looser with the recip's prompts than they would have with a main gift.

I'm going to unoffer Crystal. I'll treat it instead if someone writes a good letter. I haven't seen one yet.
