Technically the assassination of Heydrich by Czech partisans is discussed in the voiceover at the end of the film, so there's your loophole, I guess.

true, but nobody should write her fic, except for her assigned author.

Fair enough. I guess my initial reaction was overly generous in the sense that I don't think historical fic about bad people is wrong per se, but you're right that they've more than blown through the benefit of the doubt.

TBF, they DNWed sex too, so you'd be more likely to be writing a Father Ted polyamorous cuddle pile.... I'm not sure that's better, though?

No prompt. I almost never write for prompts anyway and just use the recip's general likes to go off on, and the more detailed a prompt is, the more unlikely it is that I want to go near it.

Re: A vs B

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
I anonfailed last week, so I hope that means I'll get a recip comment this year.

Re: A vs B

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
surely that's fair, morbane.

Re: A vs B

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Certainly not the optional details because blank sign-ups are my favorite recips. So I'll take the obligatory commenting.

I mean, it's a thing that most pet owners I know do IRL, but I've never seen it in fics. (Mostly because there are very few fics where pet feature prominently in my fandoms).

Detailed prompt. If it's detailed it probably gives DNWs (at least, I assume so) and I'd rather avoid DNWs completely then go in blind.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
No comment from recip. At least with no comment I don't get embarrassed. (Also, I'm used to it...)

Both of those are AMAZING.

Like I'm just trying to imagine why someone responding "point" in some fic dialogue would be so upsetting and really not coming up with anything.

For the second--are they ok with mouth to other body part kissing animals?

Rated E gen. It sounds more fun. Of course, rated g ship could be too, but idk rated E gen just sounds like more plot shenanigans.

+1 at "the people who do consent to anything at least know what they're getting into and have no one to blame but themselves if they get a fic they don't like."

Good fic with bad art. I prefer fic anyway.

I don't care about ratings at all, but I don't like gen, so G rated ship fic all the way.

Re: Bullets Dodged

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
The fandom where I nominated the protagonist and the villain because I ship them. No one else seems to have nominated but all the requests are just for protagonist with optional details asking for protagonist/canon love interest. Perfectly legitimate, but I'm glad I unoffered.

Shit recip. If a recip's sign up is blank/letter is awful I usually ODAO easily anyway, and if they don't comment I don't particularly care. Them leaving a mean comment would be the worst part, but I'd hope that at least some people noticed the recip's being pissy.

I also feel like it'd be easier for me to get away with anonymously wanking about the recip on ffa/coal tbh. I'd only wank about the mean comment part, and I feel like the comment section's public enough that I could pretend to be a concerned yuletide citizen that noticed a recip being shit.

If I got a shit author like that, my grievances would sound like they're more open to interpretation. I'd still bring it up on coal/ffa but vaguely, without actually saying who the author was, so it'd be venting instead of wanking.

...Before this prompt I didn't know it was possible to fuck up a prompt so badly.

At least now we can keep an eye out for them and watch for potential wank if they comment that the fic sucked or something? They've never been in an exchange before though so there's that, there's no way to predict how else they can fuck up in yuletide.

lol coalie you’re bad at this! there is no weasling out of what will happen. the moment you bring it up on ffa/coal, people will take their side even if you make yourself out to be the most sympathic by vagueposting. it’s right there in the scenario.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
...They have experience modding anon comms? Really? It requires experience to be like this?

Re: Bullets Dodged

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, to be fair, I don’t think any of the characters in Father Ted can really be described as friends, so it does kind of fit with canon...

Re: Letter Anti-Recs

(Anonymous) 2018-10-23 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, you weren't kidding about the different lists of DNWs. The letter's written in a way that's a progression from likes to dislikes instead of just giving likes and DNWs so it's not even clear where they draw the line at what they'd like. I mean, "no go land" and "ehh please don't" sound like DNWs but "sure why not" is ambiguous...
