If I haven't already decided I'm going to treat someone (e.g. someone who's written me a treat in a previous year, who shares my fandom tastes, is requesting a fandom/pairing I really want to write, etc.), I look for engaging prompts that make me immediately think of how the plot/trope/scenario would work and that gets me excited about writing. They don't have to be really involved or complicated prompts, but there has to be enough there for me to get some inspiration.
