Or are you trolling ALL the letter posts for placeholders, just so you can write those people some nice, dry coal?

Yeah, I only care if the letter is trying to backdoor in one of the Big 4 (Crosby, Malkin, Kane, Toews, though we all knew who I was talking about). Anybody else, I don't care. Even if it's Ovechkin or that other Patrick, the pretty one.

(I mean, in principle I'm annoyed that they let Penguins & Blackhawks in as fandoms - I would have preferred them to be ruled out and the rest of the teams let through - but that's a beef I have with the mods, not with participants.)

Also, if anyone's writing P.K. Subban, they should let me know, because someone has recced him to me as Relevant to My Interests.

I pretty much loathe hockey rpf due to overexposure, and P.K. Subban is relevant to my interests. What a doll.

OMG, googling P.K. Subban brought up as the first news result "Brad Marchand spears PK Subban in the groin" - noooooo, that is important! :(

Second result was "Montreal Canadiens' PK Subban Ranked Top 10 Hottest NHL Bachelors Of 2014", though, so we're okay. :D

On average, what percentage of the nominated fandoms usually get written for? I presume it's probably around the 20% mark, but has anyone ever collected that stat?

Yeah, sorry. I shouldn't meme hungry:) Now that I've had a snack I realize that my irritation was out of proportion. I just really want to right Hockey RPF treats and I was annoyed that the letter disappeared.

lol the only one of those names i've even heard of is crosby, and that's just because of the 2010 olympics. i'm a terrible canadian, i only know enough about hockey to make jokes about how two separate nhl teams are essentially called "the canadians."

Even if they connected people who said they were going to write treats with posted treats, there's no guarantee that they would identify the right people. I'm sure plenty of non-coalies read the letters post or check out requests when madness opens, which means you could have a Non Coalie writing treats for a letter/fandom a coalie said they would treat. Unless someone specifically posts every detail of the treat/fic they're going to write here, there's no guarantee of correctly linking people.

I've got a huge list of potential offers but only two that I'm really positive I want to offer. I need more letters to go up for all the other ones. C'mon, signups!

I have a list labeled "if I had to decide today, this is what I'd offer" and another for fandoms I can offer depending on letters.

Letter-stalking has really contributed to how, even though I become familiar with new canons each year, I offer less and less each year. My first Yuletide, I offered ~15 including my bucket offer. Now I'm kicking around possible fourths.

Last year at least, if the numbers the mods gave at the beginning of the tag set review (they closed it for a bit while they were still finalizing the edits) stayed the same there were 3755 fandoms nominated and 1625 fandoms represented in the final collection. Give or take a few for tagging a fic with multiple versions of a canon, that's around 40% of nominated fandoms that had fic written for it. (But that doesn't include the Madness collection.)

I'm interested in the stat, but not dedicated to go rifling any further back in the _admin comm or check fandoms against the 2013 tag set ;) The mods generally make posts about how many people signed up or total number of fics written, but not stats like this.
