I honestly think the vast majority of the anti-Sports RPF stuff is self-hating hockey RPF fans who, much like all the self-hating comics fans who show up every year to whine about other comics fans gaming the system, keep ragging on other people in their fandom for not following some arbitrary rules. Nobody else gives a shit, or has ever given a shit, or usually even knows enough about who is or isn't big in sports RPF to even complain about it, from what I can tell.

Yeah, I only care if the letter is trying to backdoor in one of the Big 4 (Crosby, Malkin, Kane, Toews, though we all knew who I was talking about). Anybody else, I don't care. Even if it's Ovechkin or that other Patrick, the pretty one.

(I mean, in principle I'm annoyed that they let Penguins & Blackhawks in as fandoms - I would have preferred them to be ruled out and the rest of the teams let through - but that's a beef I have with the mods, not with participants.)

Also, if anyone's writing P.K. Subban, they should let me know, because someone has recced him to me as Relevant to My Interests.

I pretty much loathe hockey rpf due to overexposure, and P.K. Subban is relevant to my interests. What a doll.

OMG, googling P.K. Subban brought up as the first news result "Brad Marchand spears PK Subban in the groin" - noooooo, that is important! :(

Second result was "Montreal Canadiens' PK Subban Ranked Top 10 Hottest NHL Bachelors Of 2014", though, so we're okay. :D

lol the only one of those names i've even heard of is crosby, and that's just because of the 2010 olympics. i'm a terrible canadian, i only know enough about hockey to make jokes about how two separate nhl teams are essentially called "the canadians."
