I want to try but the only idea I've gotten for one of my anime fandoms is a dating sim O.o;

I've written 1500 words of a treat in my assigned fandom. Still haven't figured out how to start my actual assignment. (The treat is for the other person who requested the fandom, not my recipient. Oops.)

Okay, wow, this is so not going to work. I'm gonna have to fall back to "something every day".

I struggled mightily, but managed to words across three different fics.

Hard slogging today. I've hit a scene where a tricky explanation needs to take place. I'm trying to sand down the rough corners so it doesn't bring the story to a screeching halt.

600 words so far, but still writing. Will update with today's total tomorrow.

None of this went toward my Yuletide fic, but I'm still in the vague plotting stages of that and have been writing comment fic to keep my hand in.

I'm trying to get 500 words a day this month... not all on Yuletide, but I'm hoping at least 2/3s will be for my assignment and treats.

I've had a bad weekend, writing wise. I pledged 500 words a day, so I should be at 1000 total now. Instead, I did nothing yesterday and only 300 words today. Hopefully this week it will get better. :/

394 words! Some of which are completely awful, because I was writing while 3/4 asleep just to get something out so the day wouldn't be a total loss (and so I wouldn't forget what I had planned out in my head), so it looks like this:

Some other picnic stuff happens.
[Character] does something show-off-y and it hits a tree that [other character]'s under.
The [characters] all scream and run away.

Time to fix that and then push on!

I'm actually writing on my assignment now instead of treats because I figured out a plot and it's perfect for my recip's request and I'm so happy :D

I've found that sketching out potential decision nodes on the 'main' storyline has given me ideas as to where the rest of it might head, and it sort of expanded organically from there; obviously this won't work for everyone, though!

How's it going for everyone?

I'm currently 400 words into expanding and fixing up what I did yesterday, and still going ^_^

(And I have over 3500 words total between the three treats I've started and my assignment! Some of that was started in October. I keep skipping around. I'm not very good at sticking to one thing at a time.)

I was vaaaaaaaguely thinking about doing IF just for fun for someone, and then the person I got matched with actually asked for it. so now I'm definitely gonna! I have a whole long idea that hopefully will work out, somehow :)

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I have a plotty longfic brewing in my head...and it's for completely the wrong prompt for my assigned fandom.

I feel your pain, coalie. My assignment is going to be long and plotty, but I'm trying to work out how to fit my recip's favorite tropes in organically, and it's complicated. The treat is basically porn in the same fandom (specifically requested by someone else) so it's easier. I've got 2000 words of treat now and like...200 of my assignment. I might have to resort to an outline.

Finally started on my assignment and a new treat! :) I now have the barebones of four treats (which I seem to have more inspiration for than my assignment since I'm still waiting on a placeholder letter)...

I wrote 100 words or so! #o/ If I write that much per day then I'll be very pleased with myself.

I keep restarting my assignment fic. Meanwhile my treat is going okay, but I feel guilty about it so it's hard to focus. :sigh:

I've made it up to about a thousand words added to what I did yesterday! I'm really happy about my progress. 1400 words into my assignment now. It's definitely going to end up over 2k - might well make it to 3k.

I'm still really happy with the plot. \o/

(4100 total so far on Yuletide.)
