(Anonymous) 2014-10-30 11:14 am (UTC)(link)(Realistically, the original thing doesn't have a deadline and I won't hesitate to leave it by the wayside in favor of presents for other people. But I'm still kind of boggling at myself for deciding to commit to all this at once even to myself.)
Someone in chat semi-seriously suggested writing a treat a day to make a nano wordcount work of fanfic, since nano requires 1666 words a day.

Someone on _Coal suggested this earlier, the combining NaNo and Yuletide, and suddenly my brain was like "challenge accepted." And no matter how much I tell my brain that no, we are not doing this, it still thinks we are.
So I guess I'll be doing it then. :D

(Anonymous) 2014-10-30 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)Heh, now you're making me want to try for the full 1666 per day... I guess, since the Yuletide deadline isn't until December 20th (or whenever it is) we could aim to write that much and then spend the whole of December redrafting - because I know if I write that much per day, 50% of it will be in serious need of fixing afterwards!

(Anonymous) 2014-10-30 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)This time last year I was struggling to write 100 words a week, and I've written more than 3000 words in the past two days. I don't expect that spigot to continue gushing but I think that if I start early enough I can get 25k words in November too.
