It wouldn't bother me if they'd told us about this stuff upfront, but right now I don't feel very happy about having had my privacy violated for god knows how long without me knowing anything about it. I've had problems with a longtime stalker so I'm touchy about that kind of stuff, and right now I feel really betrayed. If a website tells me that it isn't handing out my email to anyone, I should be able to trust them to keep to their word. And they never tell you about it, I haven't gotten any emails from mods so how the fuck was I supposed to know about it? If I'd known I'd have made a separate email just for the fic but like an idiot I trusted them.

I don't know, I'm feeling really upset about this now.

They don't tell you upfront because as you can see by the confusion in this thread, most people don't assume anything else. I mean, I'm sure there are loads of things the majority of people in exchanges take as givens where a handful of people are just shocked by it.

I can't remember a thread ever being frozen lol. Personal attacks, leaked flist/twitter shit: the mods here are just hands off. The only way to made trolls stop is to scroll on and not reply to them. This thread was dead until they got all hurt in the butt. That's what trolls get off on, coalie.
