Why not? It's rude to bash your gift fic but leaving a positive review with a suggestion for how the author could make their writing better is not exactly unheard of. I understand that you're feeling attacked or something but they clearly liked your fic even if they didn't think it was perfect.

Yeah---it's very possible to crit your gift without hurt feelings if you tread carefully. My recipient disagreed with a few little things in my fic, but they've made it very clear they like it overall, so it's all cool.

Personally I'd never crit my gift because it's so easy to go wrong there, but it can be okay!
