No. I offer the fandoms I most want to write. If they're tiny (and they are), I adjust my expectations accordingly as far as how much response to expect. Usually, people are so gleeful to see fic in their tiny fandoms than the comments I get are treasures, even if they aren't abundant.
That's how I feel, too. I wrote for a request a couple of years ago that I knew was a fandom of one, knew it when I offered it. I had a blast writing it and got one of the gushiest comments ever from the recip. I ended up getting maybe two more over a few months, but I never expected more than one person to read and enjoy it.
People who offer those small things don't expect to get barraged with kudos and comments. If they do, they're misguided.
