And yet...It's not even that I want to write slash for any particular pairings in this canon. It's just that when someone says "no slash", I immediately lose any interest in giving them what they do want. Why should I reward homophobia?
I get nervous in those sorts of situations, because it's pretty much guaranteed that once my brain sees "no slash/femslash", it instantly comes up with a story that ends in slash/femslash. Last year I wrote a fic for someone like that, and to ME it was totally a long friends-to-lovers story, but I had to take out the ending because that person did not want slash/femslash. It was a sucky feeling.
They loved the fic, though, so I'm glad I made them happy. But I'm not doing that again.
