Huh? I guess the combination of the breathless five-dollar-word-cascade and the performative DUMBASS ALLCAPS is maybe a bit try-hard, but isn't that first quote just a run-through her fandoms, with a one-word identifier for each and a note that what she likes best about them is the sense of people trying to build a scarily unseen (but partly imagined) future?
I don't know any of the fandoms in question, but that seems reasonable enough - and her description of The Lie Tree actually makes me want to pick it up at some point. Likewise with Hamilton as a 'richly-upholstered death shoebox', actually - I find that hella evocative, and it's come closer to making me finally listen to the thing than most other stuff I've heard.
I mean, it's all a bit strained and opaque in an ENTHUSIASTIC UNDERGRADUATE kinda way, but if I got assigned to this letter I'd be pretty pleased.
