My opinion is that if it's a part of your cultural history than it's fine. If you aren't the ethnicity/nationality for whatever your pagan religion of choice, then it is tryhard and slightly problematic, esp since people tend to choose the "cool" religions like GrecoRoman or Norse mythology and never idk African or Southeast Asian gods and hmm isn't that telling. It goes double when they pick the cool gods when claiming to care about SJ or intersectionality but are never critical about why they picked what they picked.
AS calls herself an /atheist pagan/ though, which makes her both of those things and an idiot.
