Hmm, my recip only gave one prompt for the pairing we matched on, and it's for a super specific AU. I've never really written an AU like that before - people who regularly write AUs (think, high school or coffee shop or something like that...) how do you go about working out what the plot should be? I'm usually a 'take this hole in canon and fill it' or a 'canon ended, what happened next?' kind of writer...
I'm not sure I like my AUs super plotty. I feel like just putting beloved characters in a new setting and doing a little bit of worldbuilding is enough. But I'm someone who considers "and then they KISS!" like a pretty great plot.
Heh, see, I completely forgot that that was an option... I usually set out to write a 2k kissing scene and find myself with a full story 5-6k later. Actually, I could do 'and then they kiss!' fairly easily with the given prompt while keeping the AU setting!
