...how obvious is it when when you leave comments/kudos on every fic in a mid-size Yuletide fandom but one?

...which I abandoned on the steps of the OTW convinced they were unreadable coal lumps, have better kudos ratios and more comments than other things in the fandom. I'm both proud and baffled.

If you don't feel comfortable writing a pairing or type of relationship (slash, etc.), don't offer it! If you can only write AUs for a fandom, don't offer it! And if you mess those two guidelines up and get a writer you don't feel comfortable writing for, please consider defaulting instead of writing something the recip doesn't want and including an A/N about how hard it was to write because you're not comfortable with the ship uwu. I doubt any recipient is going to feel good knowing their author hated writing their fic.

Is it a dick move to make a rec post and *not* include your gift? I didn't get coal, exactly, but a sweater with one arm shorter than the other, tons of mistakes in the pattern, and loose threads sticking out all over.
