In case anyone thought the new hetswap mod was going to be better than Aeiouna.

I like their tone, actually, but I'm baffled as to why they're rejecting Pokemon for being non-sentient. Was "must be a sentient being" a criterion stated upfront?

Something to do with "animals don't have gender identities" which makes sense except that Pokemon are absolutely sentient.

OK, yes, it makes sense to argue, as a wider conversation about gender identities, than animals of various intelligences do not have them, or do not have them as humans have them.

But in an exchange designed for fun pairings it seems to be missing the point, and needlessly fun-killing.
