Pollute the Air

Did your favorite fandom get rejected because it was one fic over the limit?
Have you just fallen in love with a new fandom the day after nominations ended?
Or are you morbane?

Tell us all

Also:
In the last post the idea came up to create a community where you can post your most shameful yuletide requests anonymously. Check out [community profile] youwantwhat

+1. Please do. I write both longfic and shorter fic. If you tell me you'd rather not get fic over a certain size, I'll gift that story to someone else appropriate or upload it, ungifted, after Yuletide.

+1 I really would hate the idea of someone not enjoying a fic due to something as easily adjusted as length. I usually write just whatever feels like it fits and that can vary anywhere between 3k to 13k. I could always give the 13k one to someone else if I was aware someone prefers shorter fic.

+1. I've written Yuletide stories anywhere between 2k and 40k+ depending on how big an idea hits me - if you'd prefer that I rein myself in, I totally can, but I need to know it!

Jesus christ, yes. I tend to write longer, plottier stories when left to my own devices, and always figured people enjoyed longer stories, especially since they're unexpected. If I know I'm writing for someone who generally loses interest in anything over 1 or 2k, I can write something complete in the minimum number of words. It's not necessarily easier or less time-consuming, but at least I know the fucking thing will be better appreciated.
