Pollute the Air

Did your favorite fandom get rejected because it was one fic over the limit?
Have you just fallen in love with a new fandom the day after nominations ended?
Or are you morbane?

Out of curiosity, what do you consider to be long fic? 5000 words? 8000? 15000? 50000? I'd be really interested to know, especially considering I have a habit of writing long YT fics ^_^;

I'm the AYRT but for me longfic = 20K words and up

Oops I meant I'm NOT the AYRT.

NAYRT

To me, anything less than 10k is short. 10k-50k is long, 50k-150k is super long, 150k+ is an epic.

Ouside of exchanges, I rarely read anything below 3k in bigger fandoms. I'll take what I can get for small fandoms or non-existant pairings, but I looove longfic. :)

Megafandom:

50k+: long
20k+: medium
10k+: well, it's not short short...

Yuletide fandoms:

20k+: LONG
10k+: still long
5k+: medium/long
2k+: medium

I got into a megafandom this past year for the first time in years and the minute I started seeing 50k word counts on fics and thinking "oh, about medium length then" I knew I was in deep.
