Pollute the Air

Did your favorite fandom get rejected because it was one fic over the limit?
Have you just fallen in love with a new fandom the day after nominations ended?
Or are you morbane?

Tell us all

Also:
In the last post the idea came up to create a community where you can post your most shameful yuletide requests anonymously. Check out [community profile] youwantwhat

It is fine, but why would you want to sign up for an exchange when you don't really care about the fic you receive?

Being more focused on the writing side is one thing, not giving a crap about receiving anything in return is another. If writing is that much more important, they should just treat or pinch hit.

I'm not that person, but maybe they like the challenge of being assigned to write for one particular person and whatever prompts that person has, rather than picking whoever they want from all the letters or the PH list.

because giving, and the social high you get from giving and being well-received, are more fun than receiving for some people.

Totes true. I prefer the other spectrum of receiving, and the social high I get from receiving a well-written fic. That's more fun than giving for me. So I make sure to write about a thousand words of coal or default as late as possible so I don't have to give much and I receive plenty. We should get together and tango.

High five, team!

Deadlines are helpful.

NAYRT

I've done Yuletide for about 8 years now, and I do it for the writing. I always hope to get a great story, and a few times, I have. Usually my gift is pretty disappointing, but I take comfort in how much I enjoy writing for others and seeing their appreciation. If I didn't hope to get a good story, I wouldn't sign up.

I'm actually signing up with my regular name this year, and using a sock I created last year in case I wanted to write things I didn't want associated with my main name to treat on prompts that I wouldn't feel comfortable having in my profile. I'm hoping someone in a certain RPF group makes a request that fits a story I'm itching to write. I don't write or read RPF, it makes me uncomfortable, but this idea so perfectly fits these two guys. I want to write it so badly, but would never just write it unless someone wanted sexytimes between them.

I will likely do tons of porn treats with this particular name, too. The relative anonymity will make it easy to go just as porny as I want. But I won't sign up with it because all my wants will really be covered under my regular name, and I'd just be reaching for requests to hit the minimum.
