I think of the prompt field as being like a summary field on a fic archive: it should be a juicy tidbit that gives a good sense of the longer version while being quite appealing in and of itself.

At the very least, the signup details should give an idea of whether you want shippy fic and the overall type of fic you're looking for (post canon character death fix, missing scenes, family dynamics, fluffy domesticity, dark and creepy like the canon, etc.).
