the requester hasn't kudosed or commented on those fics so they probably aren't into my take on the characters.

More likely they've never seen your fic at all, unless you know for a fact they read in the fandom.

It's a tiny fandom and I've seen them kudos a few other fics, so I'm guessing we just don't see the characters the same way.

did yours have a kink or side pairing that may have made someone not read?

but yeah ia if they interacted with fics posted immediately before and after yours then it could be your take on the plot didn’t work for them.

Looking at the fic they've written and their public bookmarks, yeah, there's a kink we don't share, so definitely a dodged bullet for both of us.
