What are some ways to write pet-sociopath dynamics (in this case canon bad guy is madly in love with canon good guy and ready to solve his problems through unscrupulous means/express his affection in unscrupulous ways) short of out-and-out murder?

Unethical, secret acts of vengeance against those who have wronged the good guy. The boss giving him a hard time finds his prize horse lamed/his beloved car vandalised. The customer who was rude to him has his house broken into and pig blood poured on his bed.

People competing against him in things come down with food poisoning, or are kept awake all night by strange, loud sounds and screaming. The brakes of their car are cut/carriage tampered with/nails pushed through the saddle of their riding horse so the horse is stabbed when they put weight on the saddle.
