I've got two pretty much decided. The third wouldn't result in a match as things stand (not offering all the characters the letter writers have requested). The fourth will depend on letters.

Same. Letters are really helpful in that regard. That's why I sort of wish they were required.

I have three for-sures, one I have to read but will in all likelihood love, and two maybes, one of which I feel like I really need to keep an eye on letters to see what the fans are requesting this year.

Yeah. The one mentioned several comments up in a list of RPF letters that had Sequin and Benn. (I'm on my phone and cannot copy/paste for the life of me, sorry!) It's the second or third from the bottom. When you go the link now, though, it comes up page not found.

Soulbonding can be written a lot of different ways, coalie. I once wrote soulbonding wingfic, for instance. I think the main thing people expect when they ask for it is two characters who are connected irrevocably to each other, emotionally but sometimes also physically. It doesn't have to be romantic, even, but that's generally implied. There are a lot of ways to approach it, and the fandom/characters will probably dictate how you tackle it.

The soulbonding world is your oyster, basically.

I just don't understand the pearl-clutching over anon memes. Okay, maybe over SPN_Gossip, but FFA and _coal? Seriously, we're not that bad! There's all sorts of good stuff in here!

SPN and FFA complain about general fandom stuff that you usually can't escape no matter how hard you try (shitty BNFS, n00bs stealing gifs, wankers). _coal is devoted to complaining about out free gifts in an optional exchange we sign up for.

There's a pretty big gap between not wanting to trumpet anon meme involvement (although chances of anyone tracing down a single treat and successfully connecting it to an author are low) and pearl-clutching.

It felt rapey to me both when he smeared the makeup on Amy and when he poured the drug into Kieren's injection hole. The makeup scene really got to me, and I was sure that was the metaphor they were going for. By the time we hit the finale of season 2, I expected this type of behavior from him.

He may be misunderstood, but he has problems beyond that. Gary/any PDS sufferer non-con makes a ton of sense, though. He's not above it, IMO.
