Just discovered an ex is involved in one of the fandoms I was going to request. Can't decide whether it would be worse to get a fic from her and have to make nice, or dump the request and have to find something else to fill the slot. /o\

I'd say keep the request, personally. She's the one who'll have to deal with the awkwardness. If it's too weird, she'll default, and if not, you have the anonymous period before author reveals to read the fic and comment on it before you actually find out it's her. It seems like something your ex should be worrying about, not you!

Unless you think she'd intentionally write you coal, I'd leave it. You can comment while the fic is still anon, and if she feels awkward about it, she can always orphan before reveals.
