Which fandoms are you looking to treat but not offer? Why?

I want to find Outlander book requests to treat, but I won't offer it because I don't want to risk having to review the whole canon in detail... I'd rather pick and choose treats based on what I've most recently read. Plus I want to avoid people who want TV canon but requested the book because of the greater range of nommed characters...

- Saga because I like one person's requests but don't feel confident that I could write for any other person I might be assigned to
- She-Hulk because the one letter up so far is the kind of "give me anything" request I can't work with
- Code Name Verity for the same reasons as Saga
- probably Political Animals because so far most of the letters aren't doing anything for me
- Faking It because holy god I don't want to end up assigned to someone who hates Karma

Any of the big ensemble cast fandoms (GOTG movie, Gotham, Orange is the New Black, Orphan Black, etc).

Too much potential to be matched to an Any request that is vague as hell or mentioned no one I actually offered.

- Dark is Rising: I have to really like the prompts for this. Also, I want to treat people who were screwed by certain characters not getting in.
- Hark! A Vagrant: I only want to write treats for the Nemesis strips, but if I offer it I have to offer 2 characters
- Dead Poets Society: I really just want to write boys school orgy porn for this. I... can't really defend that.

90s/early 00s nostalgia movies- because the requests seem fun, but I don't think I'd enjoy writing it for my assignment

Historical drama tv series (Rome, Peaky Blinders, Ripper Street, etc.)- because their settings are intimidating to me and I'd want to research the hell out of minor details and would probably stop seeing the forest for the trees as it were writing an assigned fic. A treat (esp. a madness-sized one) I feel like I could fudge the period details and get away with it.

Historical RPF, 80's movies, any fandom I've been assigned to for a previous Yuletide, any fandom that has some connection to my childhood because I remember the Care Bears rape rack and I'm not getting stuck with that, Arthurian Myth, Greek Myth.

I don't offer five-minute fandoms, myth/legend/fairytales, or anything where I know I'll want to write casefic, because no matter what I get assigned I usually get really carried away and write longfic, and the less structure canon has, the longer and more ridiculously overcomplicated my main fic becomes. I have more restraint with treats for some reason.

Fallen London, because this is a fantastic letter but I don't know the Captivating Princess storyline. I can treat three of the chars, though.

Sleepy Hollow or Selfie. Two ransoms I'm interested in but not confident in enough to get just any assignment. If I see prompts I like, I'm on it.

I really want to treat Medieval Land Fun-Time World, but I'm afraid to offer it, because I always seem to go over-the-top with canon review/research, which sounds... like a bad idea for that one. I'd probably end up watching all of GoT or something, even though half the letters say they aren't into it.

Huge. I had it in my offers but a letter just went up that, while perfectly fine as a letter, has absolutely nothing in it that I personally could work with. Out of the offers it goes.

Big-for-yuletide fandoms are ones I'll treat but not offer. If there's a perfect prompt, I'll write them, but I'd rather have something more obscure for my assignment.

Fandoms I'm convinced only a good friend will be requesting go on the list too. I might come up with a brilliant treat idea for them, but if I don't, I don't want to end up defaulting on them or writing them something crappy.

A couple of five-minute fandoms like the On Your Mark music video and the Lorde Howe Island stick insect thing, maybe the Thrawn requests, The Venture Bros. - not a lot, actually. Most of the things I'm excited about enough to write treats for are also fandoms I'm offering.

The Musketeers. I don't really ship the Inseparables together, so I'd rather treat than try to game the system so I won't get matched to someone who really wants shipfic.

My RPF fandoms - I post my RPF fic under a separate sock account, but I don't want to sign up twice, so I'm only signing up under my main ID and doing any porn or RPF treats under the sock.

Mostly song fandoms. If I get one as an assignment, I feel pressure to make the story super amazing and grow lots of OCs and plots, just because the canon is so open-ended. If I write them as treats, I have an easier time relaxing and just writing a fun story between 1k and 3k.

Gravity Falls because of that one letter that talked about how she loved the show because it's so queer. At first I thought she meant in the mysterious kind of way because it is that kind of show, but her transfic begging in her likes nipped that one in the bud.

I'm really excited that so many people are requesting it! But I am not confident enough in my canon knowledge to offer it, since there are so many hidden paths and details in the game.
