Penny Dreadful has absinthe (Dorian Grey) and a character who mainlines morphine (Victor Frankenstein).

And yes, THAT Dorian Gray and THAT Dr. Frankenstein.

This seems to be the only one so far that mentions drug use for Penny Dreadful. I know because I went through them all hoping to write something about addiction too.

It also talks about Tommy Shelby's opium addiction in Peaky Blinders.

I haven't heard of Penny Dreadful until this Yuletide, but suddenly it's popping up everywhere Relevant to My Interests.

Tell me I can ship Dorian/Frankenstein?

Victor is a hot mess (emphasis on both words tbh - I love him) but oh good god I feel like the only person in this fandom who LOATHES Dorian. All the other adaptations of the classic characters (and the OCs) are at least fun and interesting. He's just this insipid little fart with limp hair and a face like a beige wall. He is so boring.

I'm clearly alone in thinking this though, so you're probably good to go. Ship away! There's a ton of good fic.

I haven't finished my letter yet, but one of my prompts is basically "tell me about this dude's life as a drug addict". Maybe I'll get it up tonight!
