Most people in the world live in China and most people in the USA live in California.

Catering to the EST was dumb to begin with. Have it go live 12AM PST or 12AM (whatever Timezone Beijing is in). Don't like that? Gotta go with UST.

I don't know why all these EST people are complaining about losing the midnight reveal, anyway. I was in PST for the last several years up until a few months ago and getting Yuletide at 9pm on Christmas Eve was pretty much perfect. I'm glad they changed it this year so that even being in EST I'm still gonna get it on the 24th.

california coalie here! i love when shit is midnight EST because i don't have to stay up late. sports on the east coast is pretty much the best thing. games start at 2-4pm and are done around 7-8pm. i have the rest of my night to go out and have fun.

fics going live at 4pm is going to be AMAZING. i can spend all afternoon reading fics, eat a good dinner, and then stay up late into the night reading more.

LONG LIVE UTC

"most people in the USA live in California"

Uh, no. The population of Cali is something like 33 million. The population of states on the east coast is over 150 million which is more than a third of the country's population.

1 out of every 8 people who live in the United States lives in California. It's the most concentrated state. Sure there are people sprinked in the midwest and congregated along the East coast, but if you're every trying to make the most people happy in the USA, the key is to aim for California. PST > EST > Central > Mountain.

And 1 in 3 people live on the east coast...

Umm not even a little bit.

Breakdowns for percent of US population in each time zone:

Eastern: 47.0%
Central: 32.9%
Mountain: 5.4%
Pacific: 14.1%
Alaska and Hawaii: 0.6%

When I mod things, I cater to my own time zone. I assume that was the original logic to Yuletide using EST.
