But it also hurts gay women if it's not okay for gay people to politely express that they find man/woman sex to be a little personally icky without walking on eggshells to find the best way to say it. It's not just a straight women vs gay men thing.

How about we just don't have people talk about how they find sex between particular combinations of genders squicky? That doesn't seem like a big ask.

You're not saying it shouldn't be in DNWs, though, I presume, just that it shouldn't be stated as 'squicky'? Because if so, I agree, but if you think people shouldn't be able to DNW some kinds of sex, that's ridiculous.

No, I was objecting to the phrasing specifically.

Yeah, I (lesbian) ran into this with my letter. I didn't want to piss someone off by explicitly saying 'no het ew', so I just... avoided the topic with my fandom with a het couple I was requesting and didn't include it in my yuleporn comment. (I mean, I want them in a relationship, I just can't deal with reading het sex.)

'Please don't write me heterosexual sex'. I wouldn't side-eye that.

Or just, "no porn for this pairing," perhaps.

+1 No point in not listing a DNW that would put you off your gift! It's a sensitive topic, but either of those options sound fine.
