My letter's on Tumblr and I always start with a placeholder because I don't want my non-YT followers reading my letter. This way, they just see this placeholder and then once it's safely hidden beneath a couple of days' worth of posts and everyone's forgotten about it, I go back to fill it.
But that's an untagged, unlinked placeholder. Putting something like that on the letter post is mind-boggingly counterproductive. And yet it still happens. Amazing indeed.

Pro tip:
You can post it as a private post, so only people who have the link can actually open it. Works like a charm.

Only thing you need to be careful with, is that if you make it public, the url changes, so best to keep it private if you go that route.
