A full swath of pinch hits will go out as soon as assignments go out because they were unmatchable for whatever reason. Snagging one of those succesfully might be tricky, but it'll give you as much time as a normal assignment.

Other than that, if you want to give yourself the pressure of the assignment. Find a fandom you would have offered, click a random letter, and treat that like your assignment. No searching for the best prompts, just challenge yourself to write to the letter no matter what. I've always wanted to do this but chickened out.

(NAYRT) Oh, that is a great idea. I might attempt that, depending on how early my dentist and I get our assignments done. I always mean to write treats but end up dicking around on coal instead because the urgency is just not there, so pretending it's an assignment might be a good way to trick myself into writing more than one story this year! :)
