Is there a third type of football I was previously unaware of that's played in a court, or did somebody invent field basketball when I wasn't looking?

MTE. Hockey (ice and field) is big in Russia and Mongolia has their own hybrid version so I'm wondering if that coalie really does think Asia is Japan and maybe sometimes South Korea?

Don't they play field hockey aka lacross in Malaysia and the Philippines too?

And it's fucking huge in India too.

FYI field hockey is not lacrosse though. It's still played with sticks, not those scoop net things. Two totally different games.

The field is on soil. There are 2 basketball posts on either side and they drag the football goalposts when they want to play football. They can put up a net for the kids to play volley or badminton too.

But they can't play ice hockey there.

You might want to work on the whole not generalizing your own personal experience onto all schools of a continent then, lol.

So what? I still stand by my opinion that ice hockey will not get popular in (all) asia. Tell me again about it if it ever get to Asian games.

You can play ball or feild hockey though.

Lots of pro hockey players got their roots in playing rollerhockey. If a kid in an asian country was good at nonice hockey its not much of a stretch for him to make the transition to ice. Other kids can still play the sport casually even if their town doesn't have a rink.

Thanks for the explanation! I'm no sports coalie, so I wasn't sure how soft a surface a basketball can bounce on (even when I lived in the country, kids played in driveways). Makes sense, though, since all the other balls bounce.
