I do not understand the hate that this gets every yuletide.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-31 05:29 am (UTC)(link)For me, it feels like the incentive is "you get to tell everybody that you wrote a fic with a woman in it, look, look, look," and I'm not interested in drawing attention to myself in that way. It's clear, however, that that isn't an impression everybody has, so my general feeling at this point is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The people who enjoy it will use it, and the people who recognize my stories' characters will know that they're female.
