I would take this as a comment over getting kudos, tbh.

Me too. It just feels to me more personal, and gives an impression that the reader liked the fic more to go through the trouble of opening the comment box and writing the word kudos instead of just half-heartedly clicking the kudos button.

I don't have to open the comment box, it's already open for me. The only trouble we getting 'kudos' into the comment field.
