No, it's pretty normal to feel this way. It's shitty if you say it in namespace mutiple times but this is the right place for vague moping about being overlooked.
No, it's understandable to wish your fic had more attention. It's shitty to say you should never write the crossover fic that your recipient wanted simply because other people won't care about it, which is what the OP said.
I don't think it's remotely shitty. It's not like the crossover would have been the only thing their recipient wanted (if it was I'm sure we would have seen that person's letter pop up for being an asshole who only wanted a crossover fic), so presumably they wish they'd written for one of the prompts that would have made their recipient equally happy and not lead to it getting passed over by all the other readers who only know one of the canons.
Original anon -- indeed, the recipient had plenty of non-crossover ideas. This is in no way her fault -- it was a perfectly reasonable request with lots of non-crossover options and she has left a very appreciative comment. I should just have thought more carefully about the potential of small fandom crossovers to halve the audience :(
