It also seems odd... Cricket is a team sport, yet the mods didn't force the cricket nominators to break it down by team simply because other sports (hockey and football) are too large. So why should that consistency be enforced in one situation but not in others?

ayrt

IT'S SO DUMB.

They don't do it for Basketball or NFL, if I remember correctly? Someone check me if I'm wrong.

I guess they don't care until the fandom is too big. But in that case they really should have thrown the "Chinese Actor RPF" nommer a bone.

That's the entire point I think, or meant to be.

RPF noms are meant to be broken up for two reasons:

1) to make them smaller (CW is too big, Random Teen Show isn't)
2) to make ANY offers possible (Golden Age Hollywood actors vs Fandom Darlings of the Moment)

This nomination didn't fail either of these two points (because of its obscurity) which is why I think the mods were just being hard on them to make an example. Also so it couldn't be pointed to as a precedent in future.

Yeah, I think that's the issue here.
The fandom is too big but still has to be whiddled into Yuletide for whatever reason, instead of saying fandom too big, out you are.
