I think so, yeah. It's a way of saying "I can't really comment on characterization, but I read this for the kink and the kink was great".

That makes sense. I was thrown at first because it read to me like one of those "boy, this sure is an X!" responses you see for bad gifts, but I suppose "I searched for this tag and this fic met my hopes for what I'd find there" makes more sense and is nicer.

Yep! I've been known to read fic in completely unknown fandoms if they have the tag for that kink I'm craving. Totally pays off, too!

Have you ever read that Merlin tentacle fic astolat wrote? Clicking on the 'tentacles' tag often leads to zzzz cockblock boringness that includes almost no tentacle-y goodness at all.

So I can well understand why someone was excited that your tentacle fic was exactly as advertised.
