Yuletide felt very exciting when I first did it. By now, it often feels more meh, but I'm also not posting recs posts to DW or Tumblr. I'm not hanging out in chat. I'm not endlessly discussing Yuletide with all of my fandom friends. Some people still have that energy, but it's all a bit old hat for me now.

It's true, I've been doing it off and on since 2004 and hadn't followed it much the last couple years. I was just sad to have renewed energy this year and to find that for all the chatter from the remaining people on my reading list, it felt very low-key and ignored.
