What head-slapping failures to nominate have you discovered lately, nonnies? I just remembered that I had meant to nominate Lady Audley's Secret. Doh. At least it's not a current fandom, so next year will be just as good, but it's still embarrassing to have forgotten.

That would be Anne of Green Gables. I didn't realize I wanted it until I started rereading it. After nominations had closed.

I'd be surprised if it weren't nominated somewhere in there, nonny. Possibly not with the characters you want, but...

...Tell you what. I was going to request Emily of New Moon, but I'm up for requesting Anne of Green Gables instead. If I remember, I'll write in my optional details that my writer is very welcome to write fic about whichever characters float their boat, even if they're not nommed characters. You want to write AoGG fic, I'm happy to give you someone to gift it to. :)

(If you were hoping to get someone to write AoGG fic for you, you're SOL as far as I'm concerned--I never offer to write AoGG fic or any other Montgomery because I can't get the style right, despite having re-read all of the books many, many times. Sorry.)

The board game fandom of my heart (nominated last year, not by me). I had no idea there would be so many board game fandoms!

...I'm going to be posting a fic for it anyway in the next few weeks, so I might have burnt out on fic potential for it, at least this year. Maybe for the best.

One of the fandoms I really wish I had nominated is on the list of fandoms that need clarification and are in danger of being dropped. I'm too much of a coward to respond and claim it was mine, and I don't know what characters they nominated anyway. But what if the original nommer doesn't watch the com and misses it? Then everyone is a loser! I'm checking that post all the time to see if they appear.

No one nominated Portal! I would have if I remembered it. I've never matched on it, but I've been offering it for years.

I'm quite disappointed that Hamish and Andy didn't make it into Australian Comedian RPF :(

I was sure someone would nominate all the Orange is the New Black characters so I am super sad someone missed Big Boo. She's my favorite and I was seriously considering requesting or offering her.

My sock should have added her just in case.

Happyland! Which is not so much 'forgot to nominate' since it didn't air until a few days after nominations closed, but I had no idea how badly I was going to want fic. Damn it, I should have taken a chance and nominated it based on the premise alone.

On the 'pimp your fandom' post someone pimped a really awesome-sounding book series and said they were definitely going to nom it. I bought the series on the strength of their pimp and... they haven't nommed it. I'm kinda bummed as I was planning on treating them :/

The characters I was going to request for the Dark is Rising aren't in, even though someone else said they were going to nom them. I'm kicking myself that I didn't do it - most years I never rely on anyone else doing what they say they will!

I just recently came to the conclusion that I really want Minnesota Politics RPF in Yuletide. It's probably just me, but maybe there are some other Minnesotan Yuletiders out there who would also appreciate the fact that there is an absolutely hilarious congressional race going on this year in the Eighth District. The "class warfare" sniping, the outright mocking, the hilarious attack ads (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atDFkQhr5lM is my favorite/ridiculous/worst ad ever). Their debate the other day (http://www.startribune.com/politics/statelocal/278411741.html) cemented it for me: I really, really want any kind of cracky total AU imaginable about Rick Nolan and Stewart Mills III bickering at each other forever, with Mills as the libertarian aristocrat with perfect flowing hair who lights his cigars with hundred-dollar bills and Nolan as the old grouchy proletariat union misanthrope with earthy metaphors and constant bile for the upper classes. Coffeeshop AU. Medieval fantasy AU. Vampire AU. French Revolution AU. Somebody. Anybody. Yes?

Wreck it Ralph only got the two het pairing noms this year for a total of four characters. I really wished I'd remembered to nom the other girls in Vanellope's game like Taffyta because they are all super cute and I love angry/rival femslash pairings.

Not exactly "forgot" but it didn't occur to me that I'd want to offer Sims fic this year until a bunch of game glitches (near-constant meteor showers chief among them) gave me so many story ideas that I really hoped somebody would request Sims fic so I could at least treat them.

Only now I see it wasn't even nominated. Bah.
