I know you're a very light-touch mod but is there any chance at all you'd consider a ban on sexuality/identity/etc. wank? I think by this point coalies are very familiar with one another's positions in the usual acewank and transwank fights and having them over and over again does nothing except make a few people feel self-righteous and many more utterly depressed. It's nothing to do with Yuletide and when it crops up it tends to go on for dozens if not hundreds of comments, drives lots of people who might post on-topic away for the duration and generally makes visiting _coal a very dispiriting experience.

Some genuinely Yuletide-related wank is going to include identity wank and that's unpreventable. But if it's just identity wank that isn't Yuletide-related, it's annoying and ruffles enough feathers that the threads can go on and on and on. I know I untrack _coal for a few days if some long-ass ace discourse thread starts happening or something like that.

I know, I know "stop tracking/stop flatmemeing", but it's got nothing to do with Yuletide most of the time and I agree that it feels like people come here to stir shit because they got frozen on FFA. If you do decide to go with this, I find that a report post is the easiest way to do it without mods having to read every single comment.

It's got to do with Yuletide when it features people making requests for horrible asexuality headcanons and stuff. Admit it you just want Coal to be like FFA where you can't call those kinds of prompts stupid.

Can anyone explain to me why Anthropomorfic is different to Original Works (or Fanworks)? It seems to me that you can sneak all kinds of original works/personal wank fic into Yuletide by using the Anthropomorfic category.

It just does not fit and I cannot understand why it's there.

It might come from the same impulse, but it's older than original works or fanworks in exchanges.

I guess you could 'sneak in' original works or personal wank but why bother?
