I managed to completely forget that placeholder letters are a thing. Which is a problem because due to RL stuff the only window I have to write my fic is during the next few weeks, but if my recip has a placeholder letter up that's going to seriously mess with my plans.

I think the official mod stance is wait a week and then they'll bug them about locked or placeholder letters, but if you need to get writing asap and their signup details are limited I say just go for it. Their placeholder is their problem.

Start writing whatever you want if it gets close. You're not even obliged to nudge them through the mods if you don't want to.
