Short comment. I've had so many bad experiences with long comments not actually being good/about the fic that I've been conditioned to assume it's a long negative comment. I guess people just need negative comments/comments unrelated to the fic to be long so they can actually explain what's wrong? lol

Shit author, definitely. It might make reveals less enjoyable than they should be, but a bad recip ruins the whole writing period for me and makes me feel less excited about an exchange as a whole.

Near drowning can be pretty good for this time period because entertainments on or near water were pretty common but a lot of people were poor or non-swimmers.
