The mods enact a new rule, but only one.

You have to comment (it's OK to say "I didn't like this" and have it not be wanky) or you're banned vs. You have to write something in your optional details (it's OK to say "I don't have any optional details") or you're banned.

as much as i want to see non-commenters gone, i'll go with the optional details.

i bet most people being forced to write something will get them to at least come up with some likes and dnws. the people who do consent to anything at least know what they're getting into and have no one to blame but themselves if they get a fic they don't like. the low hanging fruit of participants who are likely to be wanky/not read the rules/fuck up "any"/default and not come back to comment on their fic will get weeded out by leaving things empty beause, well, they didn't read the rules.

+1 at "the people who do consent to anything at least know what they're getting into and have no one to blame but themselves if they get a fic they don't like."

I don't want either of these rules.

It's called a Catch 22 coalie. There is no C.

You have to comment. IMO, this should be a rule already. There should be an exception in the case of DNWs or spitefic being written but otherwise there's no reason why you can't leave a comment. If you get bland ODAO or coal from a bad writer just say "thanks for writing for me". Commenting should be a basic part of the exchange and yet we let certain people sign up over and over again despite the fact that they can't be bothered to say 'thank you'.

I'd like the optional details rule but I feel like most people with blank signups would just put "." or "anything" and that would become the new blank signup.

Certainly not the optional details because blank sign-ups are my favorite recips. So I'll take the obligatory commenting.
