1215 gifts posted

And not one of them is mine. :(

This happens every year. I keep telling myself it means epic written to the deadline longfic, but I'm pretty sure it actually means I'm matched to someone who just started writing because they hate their prompts. Or a defaulter who is still holding out hope for a gift.

For what it's worth, last year my gift was posted about an hour before the deadline and it was one of the best gift fics I ever received. So maybe you will also get a great gift.

Except there was a nonny last post complaining about how much trouble they were having with a prompt that sounded suspiciously close to mine.

Which prompt? If it was me, I'm typing as we speak, coalie! It's not going to be super long, but I am trying to make it sexy. :D?

Saaaaaame. :( Except in my case, those explanations aren't even valid because I was a PH.

Nothing has even been posted in the fandoms I requested yet, if it makes you feel better. :(

If I am your writer, you had amazing prompts and through no fault of your own are getting a legit standalone scene posted very soon, to be edited in the next 24-48 hours with the addition of the rest of the story, simply because I couldn't bring myself to post the entire fic that got crazily out of hand and isn't QUITE done yet.

I am irrationally convinced the one time I post a truly incomplete fic instead of a functional standalone placeholder is the year I really will get hit by a bus.

If I am NOT your writer, I hope they are in a similar boat and you're going to get a meets-all-your-prompts type epic either way.

I think this is the first year my gift still hasn't been posted this close to the deadline. I'm wondering if I'll be a last minute default! That'd be pretty exciting because it hasn't happened to me yet in Yuletide.

Last year my fic wasn't posted at deadline and it turned out my writer had an extension. That experience makes me want to go out to PH this year, because I was panicking when I didn't see my name in any of the post-deadline batches.

Same here! I'm kind of pulling for it. What is getting a pinch hit like! How much will I be judged for my requests!

OTOH I just now posted my fic and it's a shitty placeholder scene that makes no sense without the rest of the fic that's still trying to coalesce around it, so if I get anything at all, it's more than I deserve.

I don't have one yet and I'm wondering if it's karmic justice for me considering I just posted both of the assignments I've been working on. It would be hilarious if after all that worrying about making the deadline, the writer for me went, "eh, what's a deadline?"

Yep, I'm in the same boat. I hope my writer gets super motivated by the impending deadline...

I hope my friend wasn't defaulted on AGAIN. :(
