I picked up one of the pinch hits in the first batch that went out after the deadline, and I got an email confirming that I got it. But it hasn't been assigned to me on the AO3 yet.

Has anyone who picked up a post-deadline pinch hit actually gotten the official assignment yet? I just want to make sure that I didn't accidentally get missed in the mass of pinch hits that are going out.

Just start writing, one way or the other. Mods are probably swamped.

I'm actually already done with the fic and am just waiting to get it back from my beta reader. I like to get them posted ASAP once they're finished, so there's no chance of anything going wrong. That's why I'm wanting to figure out if it's normal or not to have not received an assignment after over four hours.

It should be assigned by now, just post it as a treat and edit it to be fulfilled if the assignment comes. FWIW I claimed one and got the AO3 email before the 'You got it!' email.
